Michelle Moran: The Writer
Michelle Moran’s journey as a writer began with creating backyard plays for her friends, where she not only wrote but also produced and coordinated hospitality, crafting drink lists and dining menus for the audience’s enjoyment. Her versatility was evident from the start.
It was clear from the start that she had a penchant for writing and could not keep her mind off new projects and concepts. She always pushed through every obstacle and loved learning about whatever subject lay before her.
Michelle’s writing journey has been a diverse and enriching one. Initially drawn to creative writing, she later ventured into the world of journalism at her father’s encouragement. Her journalistic career spanned a wide range of topics, from the intricacies of the crude oil business to the dynamics of government and politics. However, it was in the realm of food writing that she found her true calling, a niche she has passionately pursued for over a decade.
From the moment they met, Danny and Michelle were a dynamic duo. Their partnership was not just about love, but also about creating a successful and enduring business relationship, inspiring those around them.
And so began the story of The Chef and The Writer.
For nearly two decades, Danny and Michelle poured their energies into a burgeoning restaurant group in Blue Ridge, Georgia. What began as a single restaurant blossomed into seven unique concepts, complemented by a 25-acre farm and a private event venue. However, their professional journey took an unexpected turn in 2020, with Michelle finding herself ‘stranded’ in Belize due to the closure of the international airport. This separation led to a period of reflection, culminating in the sale of their flagship restaurant in 2024. With this transition, they redirected their focus towards private events in Blue Ridge and Danny’s newfound passion – his olive grove and culinary tours in Sicily.
And that, my friends, brings us to today.
Michelle continues writing, personal Certified coaching, and hospitality. She oversees their Belize operations, Lit’l Pond South on Ambergris Caye, San Pedro Town, designing travel packages for guests. And now, she dreams up creative cultural and culinary tours for groups of eight to Sicily. She’s added certified Travel Consultant to her list of certifications and is having a blast in this newest iteration of life.
